PKAVS is currently recruiting for two posts
within its Carers Services department (The Princess Royal Trust
Carers Centre (Perth & Kinross).
CARERS SUPPORT WORKER
TEAM LEADER – Rural Day Clubs (Post 1)
£17,161 - £19,522 per annum 35 hours per week (may include
some unsocial hours)
A position has arisen in
our Rural Day Clubs for a versatile & outgoing Team Leader.
The applicant should have excellent communication skills
and be able to maintain and develop links with unpaid carers and
professionals in the community.
A previous leadership role and experience of providing
support to individuals who have care needs would be advantageous
and experience in driving a mini-bus is an essential part of the
role. A motivational
and good humoured individual is needed to lead a team of
paid/unpaid staff to provide a varied and enjoyable day within a
day care setting and maintain high standards which are expected
by all associated with our day clubs.
The position is both rewarding and challenging and would
suit an individual who has diverse talents, qualities and skills
and is innovative in practice.
Ideally the applicant should be trained in SVQ Level
II/III in Health and Social Care or equivalent and have a clean
driving licence and MIDAS Certificate or be willing to undertake
training to obtain this.
This is a permanent post
which is subject to an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.
CARERS SUPPORT CO-ORDINATOR – Focus on
Training & Development (Post 2)
£19,522- £23,708 per annum Fixed term contract
until end of July 2011. 35 hours per week (may include some
unsocial hours)
We are seeking an outgoing person who has an understanding of
carers’ rights and issues and who has the ability to communicate
effectively with professionals, carers, volunteers and to liaise
with a number of agencies and people in the community.
The applicant would maintain work already started in
identifying carers through a GP & Pharmaceutical Initiative.
Applicants
should be IT competent and be able to work on their own
initiative.
They would be required to organise training for Healthcare
Professionals and volunteers and to provide information and
advice which would aid carers in their caring role.
Part of the post would be collating information for
statistical purposes and working with existing staff.
The successful applicant will be innovative in their
approach to their work of developing services for carers.
This post is initially
funded until end of July 2011 and the post-holder will be
subject to an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.
Closing date for receipt of applications for both
posts is Friday 27th August with interviews scheduled
for 15th & 16th September.
