Community RePaint

PKAVS Community RePaint Scheme collects left over liquid paint (including full tins!) and re-distributes it to schools and colleges (for art projects), new businesses, householders, community groups and charities across Perth & Kinross. This diverts tonnes of paint from landfill and allows it to be reused.

Why donate paint?

We recommend that you do not put liquid paint in your household bin as it will go to landfill and is a waste of resources.  Also if the liquid paint leaked into landfill, it could cause contamination. Instead, if it is in usable condition, you can donate good quality paint at Friarton Recycling Centre so that it can be re-used.

What paint does RePaint accept?

ACCEPTED PAINTS (Put in the RePaint container)
- 1litre or more left in tin
- Lid on securely
- Emulsion paint (including vinyl matt and vinyl silk emulsions)
- Gloss paint
- Undercoat
- Primer

NOT ACCEPTED (Put in the General Waste Skip)
- Paint with hazardous symbol on tin
- Rusty or empty containers
- Dried up paint
- Paint more than ten years old

Paint that is not accepted can also be disposed of at Friarton in a separate general waste container. Please ask the Recycling Staff for assistance when dropping off paint.
