The Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre
Perth & Kinross - The Day Clubs

We run four day clubs for the cared-for of the carers we support in Perth, Pilochry, Blairgowrie, and Crieff. Our trained staff look after the loved ones while the carer has some time off.

We also have wheelchair accessible minibuses that transport day club members to and from the day clubs. Nearly 180 people come and enjoy our day clubs every week. It could be perfect for you too!

  • On average, carers only receive 4 hours of help each week.
  • 35% of those caring for more than 20 hours every week suffer mental ill health.
  • Carers are half as likely to suffer mental ill health if they receive regular breaks.

Coming to one of our day clubs is often the only time the cared-for leave the house or meet other people.

We provide lunch, refreshments and entertainment, and regularly have special themed days and the weekends away. There are always lots of board games, quizzes and bingo to ensure that there is something for everyone. This means that not only is it a break for the carer, but also a great day out for the cared-for.

Perth Day Club:

Monday to Fridays at The Gateway, North Methven Street, Perth.

Blairgowrie Day Club:

Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays at Wellmeadow House, Gas Brae, Blairgowrie.

Pitlochry Day Club:

Thursdays at The Tryst, Church Road, Pitlochry

Crieff Day Club:

Mondays at Duchlage Court, Broich Road, Crieff

Volunteering Opportunities

If you have a couple of hours to spare and would like to help others, then why not consider joining our team? We are always looking for volunteers to help drive our minibuses, serve lunches and chat with people in the day clubs.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with a Home Companion service that we hope to start. This scheme would provide a trained volunteer who will sit with the cared-for, whilst the carer can take a break. Even giving the carer half an hour to go shopping can make a massive difference.

All volunteers will be trained and have their expenses fully reimbursed.
