Every year in June, we hold a Volunteer Street
Market in Perth for local charities and community groups.
Nearly thirty local charities, including groups such as The
Samaritans, Perth YMCA, Sound Sense and Cats Protection Perth,
take stalls to provide information
on the benefits of volunteering and how to get involved in
the local community.
Our 2010 Volunteer Street Market will take place on Saturday
12 June in King Edward Street.
The Street Market is a great opportunity to interact with
the public as it is held in the pedestrianised city centre.
Michele McFarlane of Cats Protection Perth has attended
year after year and said:
“The pedestrianised part of High Street and King Edward
Street is great for such an event and it is hugely enjoyable.
We find that we create a lot of interest on the day and many
people come to find out more about us and what we do.”
The Street Market also gives you a chance to raise funds
for your cause and meets lots of other groups.
