Navigating the PKAVS website with ReachDeck

The ReachDeck Toolbar is here to help everyone access and understand the information on our website.

For example, this tool can help people with visual impairments and learning disabilities. It can also translate webpages into different languages.

To activate ReachDeck, click on the icon of a person in an orange circle in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. This icon looks like:

You will then see a toolbar at the top of your screen with helpful features.

ReachDeck provides:

  • Text-to-Speech: Reads on-screen text out loud with read along highlighting
  • Translation: Allows words to be translated into multiple languages  
  • Picture Dictionary: Displays word meaning through illustration
  • MP3 maker: Converts online content into MP3 files for easy listening
  • Screen Mask: Reduces visual stress and improves focus with a reading pane
  • Text Magnifier: Magnifies text and reads it out loud, increasing accessibility of even the smallest web text 
  • Webpage Simplifier: Creates a simplified view of a webpage and removes distracting content

While ReachDeck is more limited on mobile devices, the text-to-speech and translation functions are available.
