Choosing a Care Home or Home Care provider for your loved one

It can be difficult for carers to think about long term care or having care providers support with their loved ones. This can lead to feelings of guilt and of failure and can overwhelm you. Our Adult Carer Team are available for you to discuss these choices and to ensure you have the correct information to hand as it is important that you feel safe in the knowledge that you have made an informed choice.

All approved care homes and care providers will be happy to discuss your needs and fears about making this decision. Most care homes are happy for you to visit before making a decision (phone the care home first to make an appointment – be aware that due to the Corona Crisis this may not be possible at the moment.) If you need financial support from the local authority to help pay for the care then a financial assessment will need to be carried out.
