Support Services

Parent-to-Parent

Parent to Parent is a voluntary organisation which supports parents of children with additional needs, whether physical, learning, emotional, medical or behavioural. It also supports parents of children who are seriously or terminally ill or parents who have suffered a bereavement of a child.
Their aims are to relieve the pressure on families caring for a child with an additional need and help them to cope with the difficulties they face. A team of experienced workers support parents on a 1:1 basis giving emotional support, advice about local services, help with behaviour management, techniques to relieve stress and anxiety and help to cope with the pressures of everyday life. The team also run peer support groups for parents and group courses on ways to reduce and manage stress and anxiety.

Time2Live Fund

Time2Live Fund

PKAVS Carers Hub has been awarded funding from Shared Care Scotland’s (SCS) Short Breaks Fund to deliver the Time2Live Fund. We have also been awarded further funding from Perth & Kinross Council (PKC) to expand Time2Live to broaden the reach of this fund and help encourage carers living in the rural and potentially isolated areas of Perth & Kinross to access available funding.
We understand as a carer that you might find you have little time to look after your own needs and deciding on what a short break means to you and how you can make that reality can feel like a daunting task. We can support carers to help identify personal outcomes by having a discussion with you. A dedicated Support Worker can help with your short break planning and apply to the Time2Live Fund on your behalf.
