Counselling Support Service

Working in partnership with Relationships Scotland we are able to offer our registered young carers 1:1 counselling in support of their emotional and mental wellbeing. Referral is made by a support worker following a Young Carers Assessment or review, or in response to a significant change in circumstances. The approach is confidential and Sessions are free.

The Children and Young Persons Counselling Service is offered to enable children and young people time and space to explore their thoughts and feelings about changes in their lives. For young carers it could be about the impact of their caring role on wellbeing and school, relationships with family members, divorce, separation, step families. The counsellor offers individual sessions designed to allow the young carers aged 8 year + to develop insight and coping strategies and become more resilient.
