Food Train – Meal Makers

Meal Makers is a local neighbourhood food-sharing project that connects people who love cooking, and who are happy to share an extra portion of home cooked food, with an older neighbour who would really appreciate a freshly prepared meal and a friendly chat.

We take referrals from individuals or couples who are aged 55 years and older. Diners can refer themselves, or a family member, friend, health worker or any other statutory organisation can make a referral on their behalf. If you are interested in volunteering as a Cook with us, we would also love to hear from you. We’ve taken steps to adapt our service provision to coincide with government and NHS guidelines due to covid-19.

Diner referrals can be made by calling us on 0800 783 7770. For more information about volunteering or signing up as a Diner, you can email us at hello@mealmakers.org.uk.

PKAVS has a valued team of over 80 staff and 100 volunteers whose skills and expertise enable us to reach our objectives and have the positive impact that we do.
