PKAVS Are Looking for New Trustees!
February 7th 2023, By Graham IllsleyPKAVS are looking for new trustees to bring our vision of a Perth and Kinross where people flourish and communities thrive to life. If you could help us set the strategic direction, maintain a sustainable organisation, and work alongside those we support to have their voices heard, then get in touch.
PKAVS is the Third Sector Interface for Perth and Kinross, supporting and promoting charities across the area. And as an independent charity we also work directly with people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, support unpaid carers, and help minority communities to access services.
What skills or experience could you add?
We would love to hear from anyone with lived experience of our services and particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented on our Board, including young people and people from minority communities. Skills or experience in the fields of Finance, Human Resources or Fundraising would also be welcome. The most important thing is an ability to join in discussions, understand a range of information, seek assurance and, above all, to put kindness and wellbeing at the heart of our work. We would be happy to support someone with a genuine passion for our work but less formal experience to grow into the role.
What commitment is required?
Currently trustees meet around nine times a year, usually in Perth though virtual access is available. Additional opportunities for trustees to visit services and get involved in sub-committees for particular projects are available. These positions are voluntary and unpaid but reasonable expenses will be covered and development opportunities are included.
Interested? Send a CV and covering letter to HR@pkavs.org.uk by 28 February 2022. If you would like an informal chat about the role and/or process then email PKAVS Board Chairperson Archie MacLellan at archie.morar@yahoo.co.uk
