Prominent Perth & Kinross charity, PKAVS, is pleased to announce that current Board Member, Archie MacLellan, will be taking on the role of Chairperson for the charity. Archie MacLellan has been a dedicated member of PKAVS Board since 2017.

As a previous Perth & Kinross Councillor, he spent 14 years serving the local community, as well as 10 years as Perth & Kinross Council’s lead elected member for Equality and Diversity. Previously the Chair of the Perth & Kinross Fairness Commission and the Community Justice Partnership, Archie was also vice-convener of the Tayside Police Board for six years.

Through his extensive experience, he has brought invaluable knowledge to PKAVS and supported the charity in their wide-ranging services throughout Perth & Kinross – including supporting members of minority communities, mental health and wellbeing provision, the charities work as the Carers Hub for Perth & Kinross, providing Perth city centre’s Shopmobility scheme, and acting as the local Third Sector Interface.

In his role as Chairperson, Archie will continue to support members of the many local communities and help PKAVS to provide essential services that make an enormous difference to the wellbeing of those throughout Perth & Kinross.

“I have greatly enjoyed my three years as a member of the Board at PKAVS and am proud to step up as Chairperson. The work PKAVS performs for local communities is paramount to the wellbeing of so many, now more than ever, and I am keen to work to provide even more support across Perth & Kinross in the years to come”.
