Young Carers E Learning
January 25th 2018, By pkavsWe are excited to announce the launch of our new e-learning module.
There are approximately 7,000 young carers in the UK, it is thought that as many as 1 in 12 pupils could be a young carer! Young carers are taking on adult-like responsibilities and research has shown that 1 in 3 young carers are spending between 11-20 hours each week caring.
The aim of our E learning module is to be used as a tool for professionals to learn more about identifying and understanding the role of a young carer. It will also provide you with information about the support that a professional could offer and also the support that can be provided by PKAVS Young Carers Service.
We would like to see all professionals completing this E learning as a way of further identifying hidden young carers and ensuring that the young people that we work with can gain access to further support if required. The E learning module should take up to 30 minutes to complete and at the end you will be provided with a certificate of completion!
