Funding Partners
At PKAVS, we work alongside funders who share our commitment to improving wellbeing, reducing inequality, and strengthening communities across Perth & Kinross. With over 50 years of experience, we are a trusted local partner, delivering high‑quality services that respond to real need, are grounded in lived experience, and create measurable, meaningful impact.
Our work spans carers of all ages, people experiencing mental health challenges, families living in poverty, people with limited mobility, and the wider third sector. What connects every service is our values‑led approach:

Why fund PKAVS?
We respond to real and growing need
Across Perth & Kinross, communities continue to face rising living costs, increasing caring responsibilities, and growing mental health pressures. For example:
- There may be up to 25,000 unpaid carers locally, many facing poverty and isolation
- Around 5,155 children in the area are growing up in poverty
- 1 in 3 people in Scotland live with a mental health condition
Our services are designed to intervene early, prevent crisis, and provide dignified, practical support where statutory services cannot always reach.
We deliver depth as well as breadth
Funders often tell us they value not just scale, but quality. Our services combine practical help with emotional support, connection, and opportunity.
- Carers receive respite, peer support, learning opportunities, and emotional support
- Young carers access fun, respite, counselling, and educational attainment support
- Adults experiencing mental ill‑health rebuild confidence through therapeutic activity, skills development, and volunteering
- Families facing poverty receive essential goods with dignity, reducing stress and improving wellbeing
We achieve measurable outcomes
We are committed to learning and improvement, using data alongside lived experience to understand our impact. In 2024–2025:
- Carers received 6,507 emotional support calls and 3,079 practical outcomes
- 214 new or strengthened social connections were reported through mental health services
- 100% of Shopmobility users reported feeling less isolated
- 97% felt involved in decisions about their support
These outcomes matter because they reflect improved confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
We are a trusted steward of public and charitable funds

Investing in stronger communities
Our funders help turn plans into real change across Perth & Kinross. Support from local trusts enabled us to provide 100 winter heating grants to older carers affected by the loss of winter fuel payments. National Lottery funding helped reopen the Walled Garden Café, creating new volunteering roles and fresh community opportunities. NHS Tayside funding supports rural delivery through The Big Hoose van, which now accounts for 25% of all distributions. We value long-term partnerships and work hard to show every supporter the difference their investment makes.
Demand for our services continues to grow, and with continued and new investment we can reach carers earlier, reduce waiting times for young carers’ counselling, expand mental health recovery opportunities, strengthen dignity-based responses to poverty, and support a resilient third sector across Perth & Kinross.
We welcome conversations with funders interested in core funding, multi-year partnerships, preventative local approaches, co-design, and evidence-led impact. Together, we can continue improving wellbeing and empowering communities.
