Time2Live Fund
Support for unpaid adult, parent and young adult carers in Perth and Kinross
The Time2Live fund gives unpaid carers the chance to take time out from their caring role and enjoy something that supports their health and wellbeing.
Applications are open from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, depending on available funds.
How much you can apply for?
• First application: up to £450
• Second and third applications: up to £400
• Fourth and later applications: up to £350
Kinship carers are not eligible, as they receive kinship care allowances and are not considered unpaid carers for this fund.
Who can apply?
You can apply if you meet all of the following:
- You live in Perth and Kinross
- You are an unpaid adult, parent or young adult carer
- You have not received a Time2Live award in the past 12 months
- All receipts and feedback from any previous award have been submitted
- No one else in your household has applied within 12 months
- No other application has been made for the same person you care for in that period
- The break or activity will give you genuine time away from caring
- Nothing has been booked, bought or taken place already
- You can cover any extra costs not paid for by the fund
- You can spend your award within 90 days of receiving it
- Your planned break will not take place within the next 6 weeks
- If you are not registered with PKAVS as an unpaid carer
Your application must be supported by a professional who knows you or the person you care for. Examples include a district nurse, CPN, occupational therapist, social worker, teacher, community worker or carers support worker. They cannot be a family member. If you do not have a professional involved, contact the Short Breaks Team for advice.
What the fund can pay for
The fund is flexible and can support many different types of breaks, activities or items that help you relax, recharge or enjoy time for yourself.
What the fund can't pay for
- Everyday living costs such as food, clothing, bills, Wi-Fi, beds or mattresses
- Cosmetic surgery, aesthetic procedures or tattoos
- Household appliances including white goods and electrical kitchen items
- Rent or arrears, debt payments, loans or mortgages
- Anything already purchased, booked or taken
