Secondary Mathematics Tutor (Group) 

  • Salary: £30.00 per hour 
  • Hours of Work: Flexible
  • Contract Type: Contractor (Self‑Employed)
  • Location: PKAVS Carers Centre in North Muirton, PH1 3BD

Key Responsibilities

  • Create tailored maths learning sessions based on each young person’s needs and schoolwork.

  • Deliver tuition in line with the Scottish Curriculum.

  • Build trust and consistency to support positive learning relationships.

  • Keep accurate records of sessions and provide reports when required.

  • Maintain regular communication with the project manager regarding progress.

  • Work flexibly, recognising the challenges young carers face in maintaining regular attendance.

  • Identify barriers to learning and share insights with the project lead.

  • Follow all Health & Safety, insurance, and child protection requirements.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree‑level education (minimum).

  • Strong understanding of the Scottish Curriculum, particularly S1–S3 maths.

  • Experience tutoring or teaching young people.

  • Ability to deliver person‑centred, outcome‑focused support.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and online tools.

  • Availability during or after school hours on weekdays.

  • Ability to travel to agreed locations (preferred).

  • Awareness of young carers’ rights, needs, and challenges.

Shopmobility Technician Assistant

This role is supported by the Future Works ERI, Perth & Kinross Local Employability Partnership (LEP), and the Scottish Government’s No-One Left Behind (NOLB) 25/26. To be eligible, candidates must:
  • Be unemployed
  • Face at least one barrier to employment
  • Reside in Perth & Kinross
  • Be an eligible parent (e.g. lone parent, under 25, ethnic minority, parent of 3+ children, youngest child under 1 year, or parent/child with a disability).
 
  • Salary: £22,932 (full time equivalent; salary scale point 2.1) per annum
  • Hours of Work: 21 hours per week. The shift pattern can be negotiated. We are open to term time shift patterns.
  • Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 March 2027, with the possibility of extension.
  • Location: Canal Street Car Park, 31 Canal St, Perth PH2 8LE

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming environment for members

  • Complete registration forms and deliver training for new members

  • Maintain professional phone and email communication

  • Carry out manual handling tasks safely and confidently

  • Store, maintain, clean, and repair Shopmobility equipment

  • Keep the premises secure, clean, and fully operational

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and best practice

  • Follow all organisational policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment

  • Retrieve faulty mobility scooters or wheelchairs when required

  • Work collaboratively with volunteers to deliver excellent customer service

  • Participate in fundraising events and promotional activities
